On Fear, Ascension, and the State of our Nation

I want to write about Fear today.

In our world right now, fear is being activated purposely to aggravate and fear is also being activated purposely to trigger the higher ascension of humanity. That means that we collectively, are all facing a challenge. We all must unpack and witness what makes us feel fear, how we feel fear, and how we sit with it or transmute it through holding connection with a Higher light.

Fear being activated purposely to aggravate speaks to the Collective Oppressive Forces trying to incentivize us to see if we will willingly subjugate ourselves to oppression… if we create space in our hearts for the defacement of our divine identity and autonomy. When we become challenged by world circumstances, in our work, in our politics, in our society, in our familial interactions, we are being asked whether we trust and believe in ourselves even when the world appears to be turning its back on us. “The world turning its back on us” is the illusion. The challenge question is: Do you have faith?

I think there’s something beautiful about the ideals of democracy that the United States was founded on. There is the belief that each person’s voice, power, and energy MATTER. It’s the idea that our collective society is made up of all the might of the individuals that live in it. It also emphasizes the concept that when the individuals in our society are hurt, the collective is hurt. We cannot ignore the pain and suffering of anybody in our collective family, because it hurts everyone. United we rise, united we fall.

There is incredible spiritual and energetic truth to these principles. We would do well not to ignore them even if we are being tested. In the United States right now, we have a strong division on what people think is the right thing to do. We are seeing a propulsion of actions that hurt one side or the other, that is being justified because the executor has felt pain. “I have been neglected… I fear the loss of my life as I know it… and now I choose not to care if this action to fulfill my own needs also makes you feel fear.”

In our Westernized culture that prioritizes logic and cognition, we are so accustomed to making efforts to determine which side is “right” or “wrong”. This action ends up invalidating at least one side’s feelings, pain, and experience. By choosing who is “right” or “wrong”, we have already lost. We will have failed to hold the souls of all the people who make up our country.

What we can do is to lean into our Empathy. Empathy is the action of practicing We are One. I have too felt fear and pain, so I can understand your fear and pain. You are not alone. Even though I may not currently understand the unique reasons why you feel fear and pain, I’m willing to sit beside you and work towards understanding your experience and motivations. Because we are in this together.

In the United States, I see myself as an ethnic minority. Throughout my whole life, I have lived with the colored experience of knowing I am always different. But right now, this difference does not keep me from holding sacred the emotions and experiences of ALL Americans. I can be different and still be together with my American people.

I had an interesting conversation recently with a friend where I was telling them a story of how as a child, my family considered sending me to live in Thailand… as an elite third culture kid being raised by a governess of darker skin and lesser privilege.

My friend asked what I thought my life would have been like… how I would have turned out. The whole concept is bizarre to me. Being raised in this country, I am proud and happy to have been taught to aspire to the ideals of equality and worthiness. We all will struggle in mastering these concepts as fear and ego are baseline human challenges. But I was happy to be taken in as a child of the land that believed in equality. I severely doubt I would have learned such concepts as solidly if I lived in that other parallel reality.

I had to tell my friend that in truth, I hadn’t really thought of what that parallel reality would’ve been like. It was too bizarre and foreign for me to have ever considered. Because I have, never once in my life, thought of myself as anything other than American.
